APU
APU overview
The APU is developed for Republic of Korea Navy. It is
small-size gas turbine generator of 400Hz, 60kw capacity.
APU produces bleed air to start Craft's propulsion/support
gas turbine as well as produce electric power as generator.
Normally, must install electric motor (small size gas
turbine), oil pressure motor (medium size gas turbine),
or small-size gas turbine (large size gas turbine) for
start propulsion gas turbine.
But the APU generator together produces a electric power
and starting air with is a possibility ease of doing to
make warships light weight.

APU is composed with Engine, Reduction
Gear, Generator, Generator Control Unit, Engine Control Unit,
Auxiliaries, Fuel System, Lube Oil System, Air Intake System,
Air Exhaust System, Starting System, Local control panel,
Remote control panel. And Vessel electrical connections to
switchboards are accomplished by means of a power box located
on the side of the APU enclosure. The power box is also used
to connect the DC output power from the APU and connect the
DC start batteries from the vessel.
An APU control panel used control and monitoring of the APU.
Control panel may be mounted at a desired location on the
vessel away from the APU |
