The system is comprised of a modular, lightweight micro-turbine based power source with power distribution electronics, a multi-electrode sweep array magnetic system, an acoustic sweep system and an onboard launch and retrieval system. Much of the proposed equipment was developed from ITT’s existing US3 system, which is in its 4th generation of development greatly minimizing development risk while assuring ample sweep capability.

The intended use of the system is for employment from Surface Mine Hunting and Mine Countermeasures Ships. It is a combination magnetic – acoustic influence minesweeping system designed to emulate the signatures of surface ships in order to trigger the logic of modern influence mines. With a total system weight of just over 4,500 pounds, it is a simple and reliable system consisting of only the power supply module, a winch for the sweep electrode(s), an acoustic device, and only minimal deck handling equipment to facilitate the streaming and recovering of the system.
